The first time I saw the ocean was in Boston, and I was about 16. I loved it. It's terrifying, but there is something about it, something magic. And now that I'm only a couple hours away from magic, I plan to take advantage.
One of my very best friends came to visit me a few weeks ago. We went on some pretty grand adventures, including a sweet trip to the coast. I can't believe how beautiful it is out there. You kind of forget about time and everything else. I've been watching the BBC series "The Blue Planet" and the ocean equally amazes and terrifies me. Nature is insane.
Anyway, other adventures included a trip to wine country, which was so much fun. I had yet to visit any vineyards and had no idea how close they were to the city. It still blows my mind how pretty the scenery is out here, and you don't have to travel very far. I'm surrounded by mountains, rivers and ocean, oh my!
We also paid a visit to the Bagby Hot Springs near Mt. Hood, which was quite the experience. I've never hiked in the dark before, it may have been my favorite part of the excursion, that, and all the stars. The springs were very interesting. I would recommend going during the day when there are less people and riff raff. More pics below. Enjoy!
