I don't think there is a boring place that exists on the West Coast. It just isn't possible. And I'm so happy to have some pals out here, gives me an excuse to travel. I've made it a point to try to go somewhere new for my birthday each year as a present to myself. This year, I went to visit my pals Alvin and Nick in San Diego.
It's so cool visiting friends and seeing the new lives they're building. Life is so full of adventure and opportunities, I love seeing people take advantage of them. It's pretty inspiring.
Anywho, San Diego was really fun, reminded me of LA a lot. Alvin and I went out for lunch at a fun little spot then to a cool brewery that just opened in their hood (Hillcrest). We went to a couple other places that night including Thai for dinner. My fav. I could eat Thai food every day and be so happy. On Friday, Alvin and I went on Safari at a San Diego Zoo park, which was pretty fun. And Saturday, we all spent the day out and about, took a drive up to Mt. Soledad and strolled down to check out some lazy seals. The weather was just perfect the entire trip. We took a trip to the beach on the last day I was there, and somehow I did burn my entire body in the heat of the sun. Win!
Sometimes you meet the right people at the right time in your life. I don't know how I got lucky enough to have Alvin and his roommate Shayla as my neighbors back in NE Minneapolis, but I did. The end. I really didn't expect to meet a friend group like that again in life. It was like being back in college, except we all had money, so the fun never stopped. It was so great to see them again after so long. I'm definitely looking forward to another visit in the future.
