What a busy hiking weekend, about 18 miles total! I went to explore the Central Cascades with some friends at a place called Goat Lake. We've been trying to get out for a while, so I'm glad the weather held out for us. And it wasn't too crowded either, which was nice. I do wish I hadn't done such an intense hike the day before because I was struggling a bit, but oh well.
The trail was really nice and followed along a creek most of the way. Every now and then you could spot areas where it separated into small waterfalls and eventually a much larger cascading waterfall towards the top. And once we reached Goat Lake, things opened up a bit more and the Fall colors were still popping quite a bit, which was pretty. The lake was surrounded by mountains and you could spot waterfalls and glaciers in the distance. We live in an amazing place. I'm reminded every time I set foot outside. I got some good pics, enjoy!
