We spent a few days on the Oregon coast in the Depoe Bay area, which is supposed to have good whale watching around this time of year. And even though we didn't really see many, save for a few brief spouts of water off in the distance, it was one of the nicest Christmases I have had.
The ocean was wild and crazy on Christmas day with bouts of rain and sunshine throughout. At the Depoe Bay sea wall, we saw a beautiful full rainbow with a hint of a double. We stopped in Tillamook on the drive down and bought some tasty beef jerky as a snack for the weekend. I tried to play around with some of the new toys I got, including a beautiful old Canon film camera and perfect yellow ukulele.
Vacations are always so short and far between. I wish they would last longer. Definitely looking forward to the next one, wherever and whenever it may be!
